I waited to see if the display came on and it reset after a while, giving a very short glimpse of a blue screen. i'm having similar problems. I did a new install to a different folder which worked. When my computer loads up, it gets past the bios fine and what not but when it tries to load into the Windows Xp loading thing, I get a black screen.

But be careful if you have nvidia or ati because you need to use the driver removing utilities to get rid of all components of the driver. but since it says memorex on the disk it certainly isnt an oem or even a retail disc with the hologram.or its a totally blank disc and nothing is on there Help Requests: If there is no reply after 3 days I remove the thread from my answer list. I dont think there is any third-party driver available so the shelf life of this chipset may be limited as new OS come out. In safe mode you can remove the Nvidia driver in Device Manager so you can boot back to normal mode again.
