mine worked fine with xp but I hadnt rebooted in ages so system was bogged down, so I decided to switch, plus I lost my xp disc so windows 7 was I would try another one - borrow one to diagnose the problem. I had it running like 30 mins ago and now it wont start back up. i have noticed that in the load screen the monitor runs at 60hz and when it stops displaying its randomly increases to 75hz.
Working... My contingency was to start on "LAST KNOWN GOOD CONFIGURATION". If the screen goes blank or you can't read it, wait at least one minute before doing anything. Try this method, hope that it will work for you.

It says that there is a problem with the instalition wizard (Windows Installer) or somthing like that.Now i can run kaspersky and uptade it (in safe mode).
