So long story short: Control Panel/ Network and Sharing Center/ Internet Options/ Connections tab/ LAN Settings and just uncheck the box for using a proxy.. It took 3 seconds and my computer was back to working like it should. The description of the solution was perfect. I would assume we would be both using my router. It’s also a good idea to update the operating system with all the latest service packs and patches.
