If CPU is consistently above 10% and there is less than 500000 K of memory available your machine is probably going to be running slowly. I don't have anything in Event Viewer that corresponds to the time of the crashes. I reinstalled 7 but didn't install the video driver for the zotac and it worked fine. I know there is no damage as XP is dual booting and works flawlessly. I don't even get the BIOS startup. Try first looking through your system event log for any errors or warnings that could be driver related.
