I have solved my problem and hopefully someone else will benefit from my experience. I've already tried rebooting our modem, router and PC and disabled and enabled my laptop's wireless network but it's not working. Does Bellsouth have a hold on my laptop or what?

The best help was this forum and the Linksys router guide I downloaded. On changing the TRANSPORT on the VPN connection with"Enable transport tunneling option on UDP" VPN connection and access to office network worked fine. . But in Vista, it keeps telling me that the settings aren't valid for a network. I live in an apartment and have grown tired of everybody being on my internet and I can barely use it myself due to an influx of people.
